Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that involves one of our beauty therapists gently scraping the surface of your skin with a surgical blade to remove dead skin cells and hair. Dermaplaning removes 21 day's worth of dead skin and peach fuzz, it also removes debris caught in the hairs and helps with skin regeneration, leaving you with a brighter, fresher complexion. It does not make hair grow back thicker and can improve the look of your face make-up.

Dermaplaning FAQs
What are the benefits?
Smoother skin, zero peach fuzz (until it grows back, of course) and brighter-looking skin that will absorb beauty products easily.
What is the difference between dermaplaning and waxing?
Dermaplaning exfoliates first and removes hair second. Having a waxing treatment removes hair first and exfoliates the skin second.
What are the side effects of dermaplaning?
In the hands of a professional, dermaplaning is safe for all skin types. If you have sensitive skin or inflamed acne then dermaplaning might not be suitable for you. If you are suffering from oily skin then we would recommend microdermabrasion as an alternative treatment.
Will dermaplaning cause breakouts?
A build-up of dead skin can clog your pores and hair follicles, which can not only cause pimples but also block your skincare products from penetrating the skin. Regular dermaplaning can open your skin for better absorption of your beauty products.
Does dermaplaning hurt?
The thought of a blade sliding across your face can be a scary one, but it’s not actually painful at all.
Is there any downtime after a dermaplaning treatment?
You will experience some redness for a short time but this treatment has very little down time.
Can you wear makeup after dermaplaning?
You should avoid applying a face full of make-up immediately after your dermaplaning treatment. Allow your skin time to settle for about 24 hours.
Should I put anything on my skin after dermaplaning?
Since your skin barrier will be more vulnerable after dermaplaning, one of our therapist will apply a dermaplane balm to your skin which is super hydrating and creates a protective barrier.
Will shaving my face make my hair grow back thicker?
Contrary to what you might think, dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker.
How often do I need dermaplaning treatments?
Since this is a deeply exfoliating treatment we recommend waiting at least a month between appointments.
Will dermaplaning make my skin more sensitive to the sun?
Post-exfoliation, your skin will be especially susceptible to the sun, so we recommend using a day cream with SPF to give yourself some extra protection.
